Rae Kwon Chung

Principal Advisor on Climate Change, Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations

 

Mr Chung led the Korean delegation for the Copenhagen Climate conference in 2009 as Climate Change Ambassador and served as Director–General for International Economic Affairs of the Korean Foreign Ministry.

 

He joined the UN Regional Commission for Asia and the Pacific, ESCAP, as Director for the Environment and Development division and pioneered the concept of Green Growth in 2005. As an input for Rio+20 Conference on Green Economy in 2012, he led the publication titled Low Carbon Green Growth Roadmap as a blueprint for Green Economy necessary to cope with resource constraints and climate impacts already impacting many developing countries in Asia and the Pacific most.
