Joris Zylberman is a journalist and sinologist as well as co-founder and editor-in-chief of Asialyst.com, a quality information and analysis website on Asia. Based in China for eight years (2015-2013), he used to be the Shanghai correspondent for Radio France International and subsequently the Beijing correspondent France 24, a 24-hour international news TV Channel. In 2007, he created ActuAsia, a multi-media production company with offices in Beijing and Shanghai. His chosen fields are social and economic issues in China, China’s strategy in Asia and Sino-French ties. In China, he also worked for several French and foreign media organizations such as iTélé, RTBF (Belgium TV), Radio France or Challenges (French economic weekly). With Mathieu Duchâtel, he co-authored Les Nouveaux Communistes chinois (New Chinese Communists), which was published by Armand Colin in 2012. From September 2013 to January 2015, he held the position of program manager at the China-Europa Forum (CEF). During this time, his main responsibility included the co-organization of the CEF 2014 edition entitled Facing climate change, rethinking our global development model.
